Manual: 

A) Prepare your Fantom

  1. Connect the Midi Input of your fantom to the Midi Out of your Computer. If you use Midi via USB be sure you have enabled Midi Mode.
  2. Set the DeviceID
  3. Enable Receive Exclusive

B) Quickstart

Send arpeggio or rhythm pattern to temporary area

  1. Select the correct Midi Device with [Settings | Midi Devices] and Model and DeviceID with [Settings | Model Selection]. First time you have to restart the application.
  2. Open a Midi File
  3. Select track
  4. Select bar
  5. Select Arpeggio or Rhythm Pattern
  6. Select Temp
  7. Click on Send Track x Bar y To Fantom – Button
  8. Press [Shift]+[Rhythm] or [Shift]+[Arpeggio], F2 und F6 at the Fantom to preview the result

Send arpeggio or rhythm pattern to user area

  1. Select the correct Midi Device with [Settings | Midi Devices] and Model with [Settings | Model Selection]. First time you have to restart the application.
  2. Open a Midi File
  3. Select track
  4. Select bar
  5. Select Arpeggio or Rhythm Pattern
  6. Select 1 – 256
  7. Repeat Step 5 and 6 if desired
  8. This step is at least not neccessary for the Fantom-X anymore.
    ( Press [Menu] [Utility] [Enter] [F4] to select Fantom’s Librarian Mode)
  9. Click on Send Track x Bar y To Fantom – Button
  10. This step is at least not neccessary for the Fantom-X anymore.
    ( Press [F8] to write the data permantly to Fantom’s user memory.)
  11. Press [Shift]+[Rhythm] or [Shift]+[Arpeggio], F2 und F6 at the Fantom to preview the result

Send whole track to arpeggio or rhythm

  1. Select the correct Midi Device with [Settings | Midi Devices] and Model with [Settings | Model Selection]. First time you have to restart the application.
  2. Open a Midi File
  3. Select track
  4. Select Arpeggio or Rhythm Pattern
  5. This step is at least not neccessary for the Fantom-X anymore.
    Press [Menu] [Utility] [Enter] [F4] to select Fantom’s Librarian Mode
  6. Click on Send track
  7. This step is at least not neccessary for the Fantom-X anymore.
    Press [F8] to write the data permantly to Fantom’s user memory.
  8. Press [Shift]+[Rhythm] or [Shift]+[Arpeggio], F2 und F6 at the Fantom to preview the result

C) Additional settings

  1. Use the Right Click Menu to select a specific Midi Channel to filter the data.
    Be aware only the note data within the selected bar range shown in the Data Window will be send to the fantom.
  2. Choose the the desired loop length with the Right Click Menu or the corresponding shortcuts.
  3. The length of an arpeggio or rhythm pattern with a 16th resolution is 2 bars of time signature 4/4. If you set the resolution to 32nd then the length is only 1 bar.
  4. Fantom Midi File Import Tool tries to guess the settings for any given situation. Nevertheless you can override these settings if you select the Steps manually. For Example: If you want the first 3 bars of a 3/8 time signature and 16th resolution you can set Steps to 18 and Loop to 3 Bars.
  5. Use Transpose-Function to transpose the transmitted note values up to +- 36 notes.
  6. Use Show SysEx to preview sent data being sent.
